Welcome to Friend In Town ("FIT", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at friendin-town.com and our platform at app.friendin-town.com (collectively, the "Platform").
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

To access the Platform's features, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
The Platform uses nicknames to protect user privacy. Your real name, phone number, and contact details are not displayed to other users until a Booking is confirmed. You agree not to share your personal contact information through the Platform's messaging system prior to a confirmed Booking.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@friend-in-town.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must verify your email address to activate your account and access all Platform features.
Guides must complete a profile and submit to identity verification before their listings go live. We reserve the right to approve or reject Guide applications at our sole discretion.
As a Guide, you agree to:
Guides set their own prices per session. The Platform adds a 20% platform fee on top of the Guide's listed price, which is paid by the Traveler. Guides receive 100% of their listed price after each completed session.
Guides are responsible for keeping their availability calendar accurate. Accepting a Booking creates a binding commitment to provide the session as described.
Travelers browse available Guides and submit Booking requests for specific dates and times. A Booking is only confirmed when the Guide accepts the request.
When you submit a Booking request, your credit or debit card is authorized for the total amount (Guide price + 20% platform fee). Your card is not charged at this time - it is only held.
Your card is automatically charged 2 hours before the scheduled Session, or at the time the Guide marks the session as complete. If the Session does not take place, your card is not charged.
The Platform fee is 20% of the Guide's listed price, added on top and paid by the Traveler. This fee covers platform operations, payment processing, and customer support.
Guides receive their listed price per session. Payouts are processed after the session is completed and released by the platform. Payout methods include Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer as agreed.
You are solely responsible for determining and paying any applicable taxes on payments you receive or make through the Platform. Friend In Town does not provide tax advice.
Travelers may cancel a confirmed Booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled Session start time. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the Session may be subject to a cancellation fee at the Guide's discretion.
Guides may cancel a confirmed Booking, but repeated cancellations may result in suspension or removal from the Platform. If a Guide cancels, the Traveler will receive a full refund with no cancellation fee.
If a Guide fails to appear for a confirmed Session without prior cancellation, the Traveler will receive a full refund and the Guide may be suspended from the Platform.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Specifically, you agree that:
You agree not to:
After a completed Session, both Travelers and Guides may leave a review. Reviews must be honest, accurate, and based on actual experiences. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our content guidelines.
If a dispute arises between a Traveler and a Guide, both parties should first attempt to resolve it directly. If unresolved, contact us at support@friend-in-town.com. We may issue refunds, release payments, or suspend accounts involved in fraudulent activity. Our decision is final.
